Liturgical Roles
For further information or volunteer for any of these areas, contact Parish Office, 772-2424.
-
Eucharistic Ministers are needed to assist the Pastor in distribution of Holy Communion at Mass under single or both
species, and to hospitals and homes of shut-ins. Training for this ministry is required and is provided by parish and
Archdiocesan personnel.
-
Lectors proclaim the Word of God during Mass. Announcers, when used, make opening and closing announcements and
read the petitions (General Intercessions) at Mass. Training is required and is coordinated by the Liturgy Committee.
-
Ministry of Hospitality
- Greeters meet and greet all persons coming to Mass, welcoming them at the door.
- Ushers help those who attend Mass and assist them to find seats. They also take up the collection and are
present during Mass for any unique needs. They give special attention and care to visitors, newcomers, and those
requiring specialized treatment because of age or handicap.
-
Altar Servers
Boys and girls from the 3rd grade on up are encouraged to serve at Mass on Sundays, holy days, funerals,
weddings, and other liturgical events. Training for servers is conducted several times during the year.
-
Music Ministry
Choir members, song leaders, cantors, organists,
and other instrumentalists are always needed to help the
musical contribution to parish liturgies. All age groups
are encouraged to participate.
