Community Blood Drive
When you donate with the Community Blood Center you are helping patients in your community who are in need of your life-saving blood donation. Donate at the upcoming blood drive held at Leaven-worth Kansas Community in the Fellowship Hall, 2101 10th Ave. on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 11:00 am to 6:30 pm. Explore ‘Life And Spirituality Of Dorothy Day’ During One-Day Retreat At Marillac Center, Leavenworth, Kan.
Explore your own spiritual journey through the lens of Dorothy Day’s inner life and outer experiences in a one-day retreat, Saturday, Sept. 18, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Marillac Center, Leavenworth, Kan. Lisa Wagner-Carollo, who has toured the country and overseas for 20 years with the play “Haunted by God: The Life of Dorothy Day,” will facilitate the session. The retreat will conclude with Mass at 4 p.m. Cost for the retreat day is $45 and includes lunch. Scholarships are available. Guests can stay overnight Friday for an additional $50 (includes continental breakfast). Registration deadline is Sept. 14. Anyone who is interested in learning more about the Catholic church should contact the parish office. We will be starting in a few weeks. Do you know anyone who has expressed interest to you. Maybe this would be a good time to invite them to come with you to investigate what the Catholic Church is about. It is often your invitation that does it. Don’t be afraid to ask. You Can Make A Difference In The Lives Of Mothers And Their Babies!
Birthright of Leavenworth, Inc needs pro-life people with compassion for women and families to listen to and visit with women who are facing difficulties surrounding pregnancy. There will be training for all new Volunteers, and they will be partnered with seasoned volunteers. Please give this prayerful consideration.
