Youth Ministry

  • What: Our mission is to foster a community of catholic youth joined together to enrich the communities relationship with God and one another by participating in religious and social activities.
    The youth group at Sacred Heart/St. Casimir strive to achieve our mission through hard work, determination, fun, and especially the Holy Spirit. We do a wide range of activities for the continual betterment of the parish and ourselves as a Catholic youth community.
    • Each month we have two youth group meetings. These meetings take place on the second and fourth Sundays at 7:45 PM. These meetings usually last about an hour. This is a time for us to get together in a relaxed atmosphere and do different activities, and basically have a lot of fun.
    • Each month, once a month we do a youth mass at one of the parishes. This is an opportunity for us to give back to the parishes something for all that they do for us. Everybody usually likes to help. We are responsible for all the liturgical ministries and hopefully very soon we will begin our youth choir to sing at these Masses.
    • Each week we have CCD classes at 6:30pm on Sunday evenings. This is an opportunity for us to look at our faith more profoundly. It gives us all a chance to question and reflect about our church and our faith beliefs. This is open to all who register and is usually very fun and interesting for those who participate. I like to stress that this is for ALL HIGH SCHOOLERS!!!
    • On the first and third Mondays of each week we have youth council meetings. These meetings are usually open to all who wish to come and listen. The youth council is a group of youth that have been elected as the governing body of the youth group. They help me in planning activities for the group. So if you have suggestions please come to the meetings and let your voice be heard.
    • Each month we have a youth newsletter that comes out. This gives information concerning what we are doing for that particular month. These newsletters will be put in the bulletins each month, and you can pick one up from me anytime in the office.
    • The youth group at Sacred Heart/St. Casimir are always open to new ideas. Please join us wherever and whenever you can. We welcome new youth and look forward to meeting you.
